Dave and Patty had recently built their home two years ago. Dave got notice he was being transferred to San Diego in 90 days and they needed to sell their home fast. Since they had only owned it a couple of years, and they purchased with very little money down, they did not have much equity in the home. Selling via a real estate agent would mean they would have to actually pay the commission out of their own pockets. Plus there was no guarantee that the house would sell in the next 90 days.
